Frequently Asked Questions

 Where are you located?

We are just off the main Belfast to Derry / Londonderry Road, near Maghera.

Our resort is situated in the heart of the Sperrin mountains with stunning views across Mid – Ulster spanning over several counties
and Lough Neagh.

We are within 40min drive to the local airports and most of Northern Irelands main tourist attractions (Giants Causeway, Dark Hedges only to name a few).

Mountain View is a short 5min drive to Desertmartin Motocross Track, 20min to DavaghForest Mountain bike trail, 10min from Moyola Golf Club and there are great mountainous walks all around our site.

 What amenities do you offer?

At Mountain View we offer a range of day packages and overnight stays in luxury lodges with spa treatments available as well as hot tub / sauna facilities and a relaxation room to unwind before and after treatments.

From girly pamper days, special celebrations to family breaks we believe we have a little something for everyone here at Mountain View.

Our homemade afternoon tea is a very tasty addition to any visit. There is car parking available onsite for guests use also.

Our resort is well spaced, each accommodation lodge is self contained and has its own decked outdoor area with seating. We designed our resort to make the most of the stunning views and want guests to have a relaxed home from home atmosphere with a little pampering to top it off. With this in mind we decided to keep our capacity to a small limit so that this can be achieved.

We offer guests the option of booking out our entire site for their group if they would prefer exclusivity on their stay.

Each of our overnight lodges are different, though each one offers complete luxury to our guests.

Lodges can accommodate various group sizes, so if you need any help deciding which lodge might suit you best we’re more than happy to help with any questions you may have.
Lodges have superior double beds, sofa beds and bunk beds, bathroom consisting of toilet, shower and wash hand basin, outdoor seating with overhead patio heaters on their decked area and our larger lodges also have small kitchens and dining areas to ensure a little home away from home atmosphere. Our lodges have full electric throughout, wifi available, outdoor path lighting, spacious garden and planted areas and hot tub and sauna areas have lighting to make the most of the facilities even after the sun goes down.
Our ‘Hungry Den’ BBQ hut is a big hit for cooking your own tasty grub around the charcoal BBQ firepit, toasting marshmallows and maybe even a little sing song....

Our communal lodge ‘Gallion House’ has its own bar area which is great for hosting parties and special celebrations. This is where we serve afternoon tea for our day package guests, where they can enjoy their delicious homemade treats while taking in the stunning views and all that our site has to offer. We’ve a selection of board games and cards to pass a while on a rainy day if you’d prefer to stay indoors and a large outdoor corner sofa with a fire pit all with overhead outdoor patio heaters.

Our latest additions to the site area are our state of the art resistance pool, large children’s play park with climbing frame and our personal favourite....raised viewing area; the highest spot on the site really has the most breath taking view. So no matter what age, there’s sure to be something for you at Mountain View!

What is there to do in the area?

Situated in the heart of Mid Ulster we’re lucky to be within close proximity to many of Northern Irelands main attractions. Whether you’re fairly local or from further afield there is sure to be something not too far away that will be of interest.

We are fairly centrally located between Belfast and Derry / Londonderry and about 35min drive to the beautiful North Coast where you’ll find endless beach walks, the famous Giants Causeway, Carick-a-rede rope bridge only to name a few.

Having a rural mountainous location, we’re in the perfect place for hikers or anyone that just wants to go a wee dander and see how many landmarks you can pick out from the top of Coolnasillagh mountain.

For any golfers who may come to stay, within 10mile we have Tobermore Driving Range and Moyola Golf Club or if you’re willing to travel a bit further afield, the North Coast boasts the Royal Portrush where the 2019 Open was held.

We are within 5 mile of the well known Motocross track just outside Desertmartin that is a round of the British Motocross Championship each year. Mountain View is the perfect spot for riders and their families to enjoy the hot tub and sauna facilities after a day on the bike, or leave the ladies with us for a days pampering while the men are at the track?

Are you dog friendly?
